The boy who received the sneakers, Taylor Bates, described his emotional response to the gift in the caption of his post.
"I hugged him and I almost cried, and I cannot thank him enough," Taylor writes.
According to a report from KMOV, Taylor had only met Tae Moore, the classmate who gave him the shoes, the day before.
