2015 saw its share of hustler-inspired sneakers — there were the "Black Market" Pusha T x adidas EQT and Concepts' "Coca" and "Black Widow" ASICS, just to name a few — but today we're looking back on one of the shoes that started it all.

The Gucci Tennis '84, better known as simply the Gucci Tennis, is an O.G. in the game, through and through. Last year, Complex's Angel Diaz waxed poetic on the subject, dubbing the Gucci sneaker the "the Air Jordan IIIs of corner boy steps." Jay-Z pretty much copied them stitch for stitch with his Reebok S. Carter collaboration in 2003, and although enthusiasm for the Gucci Tennis may have waned since, it's hard to top the O.G.

Which is exactly why we were amped up when we discovered a decent range of sizes in the nearly flawless white colorway just sitting on Nordstrom's website. Whether you want to throw it back to simpler times or just get a better feel for what you've been missing all these years, these are definitely worth a second look. Cop 'em now for $495 right here.
