As we approach the end of yet another calendar year, Nike is preparing to drop the latest update to its flagship running shoe, the Air Max 2016, and it looks like the brand has some huge plans in store for the runner.

Aesthetically, the newest Air Max sticks with what works, using an engineered mesh upper with plenty of supportive Flywire cables and a chunky 360-degree Air Max unit. The Swoosh has been moved from the heel to the toe, but overall, it's similar to what we've seen in years prior, and that's a good thing.

What's really interesting is how many colorways we're already catching wind of. There's a rainbow of solid and two-tone color options, but also a unique disruptive print that is sure to break a few necks of onlookers.

There's no further info available on this new generation of Air Max, but historically, the latest model is introduced right around Black Friday. Keep it locked here for the latest on these 2016s.
