Nike’s KD line has undergone incredible changes over the last few iterations, but they’ve all remained very low, becoming something of a signature for Durant’s playable preference. The KD 8 features a woven upper with very visible Flywires, a design that would presumably make a fantastic canvas for customization and Nike’s iD program. That presumption is proving to be right, especially with the imminent availability of the “Spray Paint” option that starts tomorrow. The announcement from Nike wasn’t exactly breathtaking in its scope, but the image they released leaves room for interpretation. Multicolored uppers in rough painted patterns are to be expected, along with bright, bold colors.

You’ll even have the opportunity to make something like a KD 8 “Nerf,” which Nike brings to our attention themselves. But since it’s not an official pair up with the toy brand, Nike stealthfuly says that there are new options “including a bold graphic inspired by old-school foam toys.” We see you Nike. We see you.

Look for the NIKEiD KD 8 “Spray Paint” to launch on Monday, July 27 for $225.
