Rory McIlroy is coming off of one of the greatest golf seasons in recent memory. The 2014 PGA Player of the Year captured two major tournaments, and cemented himself ad the #1 ranked player in the world. With the 2015 season approaching, Nike reached out to McIlroy for some insight in designing the Lunar Control 3 golf shoe to help him perform his best.
With stability and control as the primary focus, Nike and McIlroy came together for a shoe to support his incredibly powerful swing. The shoes are made from a microfiber synthetic material to keep the feet dry and water resistant, while offering a great deal of durability and instant comfort right out of the box. The major tech feature comes at the outsole, which features an extra spike for greater traction on every surface, Finally, the Lunar Control 3's feature a lighter and softer full-length Lunarlon foam for responsive cushioning throughout a whole round of golf.
The Lunar Control 3 drops January 1, and hits NikeiD starting January 12. For those of you who can't wait, Nike is releasing a limited quantities of the white/volt colorway starting November 28 at the Nike Store.
