Over the past few years, "South Beach" colorways have been amongst the most coveted by sneakerheads. With popularity though, comes the potential of over use. Sole Collector tackled the issue in a recent article asking if the SB colorway is played out. The LeBron VIII was the first shoe to feature the "South Beach" colorway as we know it. Was it the first shoe to feature the teal and pink colorup? Probably not. But til its release, the colorway didn't have a nickname to easily identify it. As the popularity grew, more companies, Nike included, used and recycled the colors in hopes of riding the wave. With the release of the Nike LeBron XI "South Beach" yesterday, and the fact the shoe is still readily available today, has South Beach finally run its course? Is the hype for it officially dead? Check out Sole Collector's full writeup here and decide for yourself.
