Just today, we brought reports of a Hornets-colored, retro-looking New Balance REVlite 580 that’s available in Japan. Turns out it’s part of a whole pack with deeply rooted inspiration. Taking cues from traditional Japanese artwork, New Balance used a combination of suede, pigskin, and mesh to truly put a piece of art on your feet.

All four pairs in the pack are New Balance 580s, a shoe that has seen some of the most beloved collaborations. Typically this shoe sits on its old school Rollbar technology, but this pack has had the soles swapped out for their REVlite midsole that is firm but flexible.

Seen in these photographs with the works that inspired them, you can see the range from serene cherry blossoms, to solemn rice patties, to an explosion of color with celebratory fans.

Staying true to the origin, the sneakers are going to be hard to find in the States. There’s only one retailer in all of North America that’s going to be carrying these pairs: Livestock. The Canadian sneaker retailer already has them in-store and they're available online right now. Unless you want to go hunting in Tokyo, now’s the time to grab them. Get them here.
