The adidas ZX celebrates its 25th anniversary this year of game-changing runners. In commemoration of that milestone, adidas Originals has re-released three ZX models—5000, 8000, and 9000—with a unique twist. For our Kicks of the Day, we take a look at what the Three Stripes did with the ZX 9000 "Negative."

Using the 9000's O.G. "Hydra/Turquoise" offering, adidas inverted each of the colors and came up with this new multicolor iteration of burgundy, brown, and blue. Hence the nickname "Negative." Despite the new colorway, though, this is the same ZX 9000 trainer that everyone came to admire back when it first debuted. The heel still features the sneaker's signature heel cage for stability and the midsole's equipped with adidas' Torsion system for maximum comfort and cushion.

For all you O.G. runner heads out there, you can pick up the adidas Originals ZX 9000 "Negative" today at Sneaker Politics for $130.
