Yesterday, Nike officially unveiled the Kobe 9 at the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. While at the event, Mark Parker, the shoe's designer Eric Avar, and Kobe Bryant spoke about the process behind the new design. From the high-top ankle, to the Flyknit upper, to the use of carbon fiber on the heel counter—the Kobe 9 is a bold step in a new direction for basketball sneakers.
