KNOW YOUR TECH breaks down the scientific technology used in your favorite sneakers and activewear. Let’s demystify your next purchase: today’s technology is Under Armour’s Micro G cushioning system. This proprietary foam technology is the platform technology that gives your favorite Under Armour sneakers that responsive, bouncy feel. Under Armour Micro G has become the brand's main form of cushioning, used on everything from basketball sneakers to football cleats. Most recently, Micro G was featured in a special PE edition of the Under Armour Anatomix Spawn for Golden State standout Stephen Curry.

What is it? A foam that is 30% thinner than it’s standard counterparts works to decrease the overall weight of the shoe and offers a low-to-the ground ride and responsiveness.

How does it work? By allowing the foot to be lower to the ground it provides the athlete with a better feel for what’s underfoot, and it enhances the ability to change direction quickly. It’s also designed as a high rebound, low-compression set foam. “High Rebound” is another way of saying that is has a higher level of bounce and responsiveness, which gives you a little extra lift and energy return.

Notable Products: Under Armour Micro G Charge Volt Low, Under Armour Micro G Volt, Under Armour Anatomix Spawn

Bottom Line: Strong, lightweight and responsive, Under Armour Micro G is suitable for cushioning your post-meal activities, whether you're hitting the gym or playing touch football with the fam.
