If you’re ready to spend your next month’s rent on a pair of sneakers, we’ve got just the recommendation for you: the Porsche Design Bounce running shoe from adidas.

Generally speaking, most running shoes don’t come anywhere near the $500 price tag. Then again, most running shoes aren’t engineered with a car-inspired suspension system that transfers vertical impact into forward movement—and here you were thinking the SpringBlade was high tech.

Over the years, adidas has teamed up with Porsche Design on numerous occasions. This year, the two brands continue their unique partnership with yet another shoe that is sure to turn heads.

As far as construction goes, the Bounce’s one-piece air mesh shell upper is tuned for maximum breathability, something like an exhaust system on a car. It features a RPU exoskeleton for structure and abrasion resistance, along with a fairly modest rubber outsole meant to hold everything in place.

$480
