Over his eighteen year MLB career, Derek Jeter has undoubtedly earned his spot as one of the greatest New York Yankees of all time. As a Yankee, Jeter has won five World Series Championships and was named the World Series MVP in 2000. He's also been selected as an MLB All-Star on thirteen occasions, taking home the MVP award for that game in 2000 as well. Jeter also holds a number of records, such as having the most all-time hits amongst shortstops. An accomplished play-maker on defense (he's won five Gold Glove awards), Jeter's mostly known for his incredibly consistent hitting.

On September 9, 2009, New York hosted the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in a 4-2 win. During the game, Jeter entered legendary territory as he tied Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig's mark of 2,721 hits. Just days later, Jeter would surpass Gehrig's record and become the Yankees all-time hits leader. Since then, he's amassed a total of 3,316 hits, which currently puts him at 9th of all time on the MLB rankings.

In 2001, Derek Jeter joined with Jordan Brand for a line of signature trainers and cleats. During 2009, Jeter's model was the a cleated variation of the Jordan Jeter Captain which featured visible Air cushioning and a pinstripe design certain colorways.
