2003's trio of patent Air Jordan 1 Retros was something of a mixed bag. The UNC version, eh. The white/black/red just didn't work out. But the black/metallic gold, they were something else. While there were some unwelcome changes from the old days — the lower cut, the jewel logo, the Jumpman on the heels — at least the black and gold AJ1s had some basis in reality. And as years go by with no word of a re-retro, these are just getting that much more desirable. For some size 9.5, the wait is over.
