In hindsight, it's difficult to view 1986's Converse Weapon as anything but reactionary. The original Air Jordan dropped in 1985, and all of a sudden the whole sneaker market was flipped upside down. Personality mattered, and while Converse arguably still had the best players in the game—Larry Bird and Magic Johnson—under contract, the Jordan kid was cleaning up. So, the Weapon. Magic and Bird were the main faces, but the shoe was also worn by All-Stars including Bernard King and Isiah Thomas (all of whom can be seen in this cringe-inducing commercial). The shoe has been retroed several times since then, but this deadstock size 13 green and white pair dates back to the first drop. History in a cardboard box.
