Fresh off starring in the hit Showtime series Your Honor, actor and aspiring rapper Chet Hanks is facing backlash after proclaiming it’s going to be a “White Boy Summer.”

Playing on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” song, the son of Hollywood star Tom Hanks took to Instagram to offer his own take on Summer 2021.

“I just got this feeling man, that this summer is, it’s about to be a white boy summer,” Hanks told his followers in a post Saturday morning. “Take it how you want.”

“I’m not talking about Trump, NASCAR type white,” he added. “I’m talking about, you know, me, Jon B, Jack Harlow type white boy summer. Let me know if you guys can vibe with that and get ready, ‘cuz I am.”

While Hanks is known for his comedic approach on social media, this isn’t the first time the 30-year-old has gotten dragged on the internet for race-related antics. Just last year, he faced public scrutiny for implementing a faux Jamaican accent at the 2020 Golden Globes.
