Following the success of the live Jesus Christ Superstar broadcast on NBC in April, which starred John Legend as Jesus Christ and his wife Chrissy Teigen as the real MVP of the whole event, the network has announced plans for its next live musical. The 1960s counterculture musical Hair will be NBC’s next live musical undertaking; it is set to be broadcast in spring 2019, Entertainment Weeklyreports

Hair, whichoriginally opened on Broadway in 1968 during the Vietnam War, is a hallmark of everything that era is known for: anti-war hippies burning draft cards and living to change the minds of the conservative society that surrounds them when it comes to sex, gender, and the environment.

The musical is known for its iconic songs, a few of which became No. 1 hits, including  “(The Age of) Aquarius,” “Let the Sun Shine In,” and “Good Morning Starshine.” The play had a revival on Broadway in 2009 that won a Tony Award.

While there is currently no news about casting, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who have executive produced all of NBC’s live musicals since The Sound of Music in 2013, are set to executive produce.
