The Nintendo's New Console, the NX, Confirmed to Launch Worldwide March 2017

Ok, the Wii U flopped, but we're always hyped for a new Nintendo machine.

Let’s be honest — the Wii U hasn’t really set the world on fire. Splatoon is pretty dope, and of course there’s Mario Kart and Smash Bros., but not much else. Still, Nintendo have always been just about the most forward-thinking and innovative company in the history of gaming, so we’re always gonna want to know what they do next.

And their new console has just been confirmed: Nintendo’ financial reports reveal that the machine, dubbed the NX, is going to launch worldwide March 2017. That’s less than a year away. We don’t know much else about it, but it’s still exciting.

This *might* be what the new controller looks like though.

IGN reports that Nintendo have apparently submitted a patent for these strange horseshoe-shaped controllers, and these are the blueprints. They look like they could be some sort of fitness-based add-on for the Wii U. But Nintendo have really tried to push the concept of game controllers forward for their last few consoles, so this could equally be how we’ll interact with the NX.
