As someone somewhere probably once said, the Beek is back.

James Van Der Beek, or "Dawson," as those who can't remember his name have called him since 1998, has scored a co-starring role in the upcoming CSI: Cyber on CBS, Deadline reports.

He'll star alongside Patricia Arquette as a thrill-seeking, battlefield forensics expert turned agent in the FBI's Cyber Crime Division. Van Der Beek's character will be the risk-taker, while Arquette will play the brilliant psychology expert who keeps him grounded.

The series will mark the fourth CSI show in the franchise, but this one will focus on crimes that involve the internet, and you already know what type of nonsense people get up to in that digital cesspool.

It's nice to see Van Der Beek will continue to have a career, because despite being a talented and funny dude, he's been part of more canceled TV shows in the last couple years than NBC (Mercy, Don't Trust the B----, Friends With Better Lives).

And if it doesn't work out, he can always go back to this:
