Richard Sherman is the cover athlete for the upcoming Madden NFL 15. The Super Bowl winning cornerback, and fan favorite for the cover, is a fitting athlete to show off NFL 15's new emphasis on defensive play. But many are wondering what exactly is the pose he's striking on the game's cover.

Past Madden NFL games usually feature a quarterback in mid throw or a running back tucking the ball about to put away a first down. However Sherman looks like he's in mid-Star Wars force-push or possibly just showing off all the other fingers he could put Super Bowl rings on.

Of course what Sherman is actually doing is the “one-hand jam” but without a receiver it does look pretty weird. This is no doubt a preview of the new active skills players will be using in Madden NFL 15 as the game steers back from heavy offensive play into a more dynamic defensive game.

Madden NFL 15 drops on August 26 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
