Officials say that yesterday morning, a helicopter operated by Mexican law enforcement officials flew over the U.S. border in Arizona and opened fire on U.S. Border Patrol agents

TIME reports that the incident occurred at 5:45 a.m. after the helicopter roughly 100 yards into Arizona. U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Peter B. Bidegain III told TIME in an email that two shots were fired from the helicopter, which was apparently on a law enforcement operation close to the border. Bidegan added that there were no injuries or damage, and that the blunder is "currently under investigation."

Mexico has since reached out to the U.S. and apologized, because shit happens.
