What were you doing a year ago today?

How often do you take a look back through your Facebook's Timeline? Well, Facebook is about to make your daily dose of nolstagia a little more accessible with their new 'On This Day' feature.

Thanks to the popularity of new services like TimeHop that let users easily see what they were posting on social media a year ago, Facebook is testing an 'On This Day' feature with a few users who have the most updated version of the social network. The feature adds a drop down arrow in the upper right hand corner of the page, which you can check out in the photo above. When selected, it will take you to a new page that shows your past activities, 'Your Friends On This Day’ and ‘Your Friends This Month’. But it won't just be showing any random posts: Facebook seems to be displaying updates and posts that gained a lot of likes and comments.

Though Facebook routinely tests things that never make it to mass audiences, this seems like something that could appeal to lots of users. Remember Don Draper's "The Carousel" pitch, anyone?
