Not much will be changing for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and co. in the fourth season of The Walking Dead - the group will still be in the prison, still battling a threat from The Governor (David Morrissey), still doing stuff and things - but the same can't be said for behind-the-scenes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, three recurring characters have been promoted to series regulars for next year: Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Beth (Emily Kinney). Additionally, Karen (Melissa Ponzio) - who you may remember as one of the lone survivors of The Governor's Woodbiury army slaughter in the finale - has been promoted to a recurring guest star.

Coleman, Martin-Green, and Ponzio all joined the series this season, while Kinney has recurred since the second episode of season two.

As for what's planned for next season, Walking Dead comic creator and series executive producer Robert Kirkman divulged: "[Rick] is letting the people of Woodbury in and trying to tell Carl that these people are like us, you have to be open to this and the only way to survive in this world is to have people and be in a community. That's going to be a big part of season four." Considering Carl is probably a sociopath now, this may not end well.
