A 42-year-old New Orleans native has been convicted of battery for pouring a pot of boiling hot grits on his wife, then striking her in the head  with the pot. For the grits, Arthur Porter was found guilty of second degree battery; he was also found guilty of simple battery for hitting her with the pot.

The incident took place in October of 2011 during an argument, and the wife suffered severe burns as a result of the attack. Still, she refused to cooperate with the District Attorney and wouldn't testify against her husband during his trial.
