Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released on Wii U and 3DS on March 19 in the U.S. and March 22 in Europe. A demo will be released on the eShop on Feb. 21.

New details about the Wii U version—including optional voice chat and text chat using the GamePad or a USB keyboard—were revealed as well.

However, Capcom also reported that the multiplayer servers for the Wii's Monster Hunter Tri will be shut down on April 30, presumably so anyone still enjoying Tri will be forced to upgrade to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Unfortunately that will also mean buying a completely new console for some people. Not cool, Capcom!

Are you still enjoying Monster Hunter Tri? Are you planning to upgrade to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate?
