In Mississippi, Students Are Getting Arrested for Ridiculous Reasons

The punishments don't fit the crimes.

Falling right in line with the state of Mississippi's history of irrationality, a civil rights group called the Advancement Project claims that schools in the state put kids in a "pipeline to prison," which institutes the criminal justice system instead of the usual forms of discipline. According to a report by the group, students can receive serious punishment for simple offenses.
