Parks and Recreation has been killing it with all the politician cameos this year - Leslie Knope meeting and proceeding the feel the face of Joe Biden was perhaps one of the most entertaining moments in the show's history - and it looks like we've got another to look forward to in the near future. According to The Huffington Post, former GOP presidential nominee hopeful Newt Gingrich recently filmed a guest spot for the series after coincidentally running into producers at an Indianapolis restaurant, St. Elmo's Steak House.

"It was a completely random chance," Parks showrunner Mike Schur told the Indianapolis Star of Gingrich's cameo, which was quickly written into the episode when cast and crew found out that the politician was in the steak house where they were filming. "But you can’t pass up on an opportunity like that."

Commenting on the cameo, Gingrich told ABC News it was "great fun," adding that he had a "small role on a Candice Bergen show many years back." For the record, he means Murphy Brown in 1996.

No word yet on the circumstances of Gingrich's cameo in the show, but the same episode - which is set to air in January - will also feature Indiana Pacers players Roy Hibbert and Miles Plumlee.
