Quartz, one of Atlantic Media's new business publications, posted yesterday about the rising cocaine use in Brazil. It seems like Brazil's path to becoming one of the wealthiest nations in the world goes hand-in-hand with increased cocaine use, as Brazil is now responsible for consuming 18 percent of the global cocaine supply. That's impressive, but Brazil has nothing on the good-ol' U.S. of A.

Americans are snorting close to 37 percent of the world's cocaine, which means 1.5 percent of all Americans use cocaine and they're using 42 grams a year. Most Americans will celebrate this return to the winners circle with—you guessed it—more cocaine.
