Kotaku has informed us (because we only read news about video games, not the real world) that South Carolina's Lt. Governor Ken Ard has submitted his resignation following a scandal and investigation over misused campaign funds.

TPMmuckraker reports that Ard's campaign spent over $12,000 in funding on illegal spenditures, including $3,000 spent at Best Buy on a PS3, a TV and two iPads (one for the living room and one for the bathroom, we're guessing).

Sometimes you just need to buy a PS3 with money that should be spent elsewhere. We get that. Back in 2006 when it launched, for example, we went without electricity for six months so we could buy one. We could only stare it it during that time, but it was totally worth it.

Should Sony give the guy a job? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
