According to Chinese carrier China Unicom at Macworld Asia, the iPhone 5 will run on an HSPA+ network, offering an impressive max download speed of 21 mbps, up from the current max of 7.2 mbps.

4G LTE would’ve offered an ever bigger boost, but the technology probably won’t hit Apple products for a while given CEO Tim Cook’s statement against its adoption, citing compromised battery life as an inevitable consequence.
