Just when you thought Hollywood's most powerful couple was Brad and Angelina, Deadline is reporting that Stephen King and Steven Spielberg will be teaming up to bring King's 2009 novel, Under the Dome, to Showtime. The series will be produced by Spielberg's Dreamworks Television, which has recently found a great deal of success with the TNT alien-drama, Falling Skies.
Under the Dome deals with a small vacation town in Maine that suddenly gets surrounded by a force field, leaving residents cut off from humanity. The book received positive reviews upon its release and quickly became a best-seller. We'll see just how much money Showtime wants to pump into such a fantasy based concept, but with Spielberg and King so heavily involved, it seems like the show will be treated pretty well.
