It looks like network television has finally realized that people love AMC's Mad Men. In addition to a planned NBC show about Playboy bunnies, ABC is developing a pilot called Pan Am. The '60s-set show would focus on the long-gone airline and the cigarette, booze, and stewardess-packed flights that marked its nationwide domination during the era. Think: Don Draper's cross country trips on Mad Men with more salted peanuts.
The star of this proposed bit of nostalgia? Well, ABC is reportedly talking to Christina Ricci for the lead role. The big-eyed actress (we like to think of her as Zooey Deschanel v.1.0) is currently in negotiations to star. The West Wing executive producer Thomas Schlamme will helm the pilot.
