In terms of film, size definitely didn’t matter in 2010. Take Inception, Iron Man 2, and Toy Story 3 off our 25 Best Films of 2010 countdown and it’s basically an assortment of independent powerhouses. For fractions of the budgets of bigger and inferior productions (The Last Airbender, TRON: Legacy), little flicks like Black Swan, Cyrus, and 127 Hours knocked us out with much heavier blows—without the use of Hollywood’s version of Auto-Tune last year, 3D, we might add. Looking ahead at 2011, however, it seems like the studio-backed blockbusters should once again reign supreme. That is, assuming the majority of this year’s forthcoming superhero pics and expensive genre entries don’t disappoint like a jumpoff with PMS. It’s only the beginning of January, though, so let’s think positively. Get your Kim Kardashian ’11 calendars out, because here’s our rundown of our 25 most anticipated movies of 2011...
