What the f*ck is near-field communications? Simply put: it's a technology that will allow you to use your phone as a credit card by swiping it against contact-fields like the one seen above. It's been rumored that the next iPhone will support it. It's going to be a big deal...in like, 3-to-5 years. But the fact that Google is already supporting it, and working with some retailers to bring compatible NFC machines to the marketplace, is pretty damn cool.
