Her Loss, the collaborative album from Drake and 21 Savage, debuted atop the Billboard 200.
Per Billboard,Her Loss earned 404,000 equivalent album units, of which 391,000 consisted of SEA units, equaling 513.56 million on-demand streams of the set’s tracks. It’s the fourth-largest streaming week of all-time for any album.
Drake already held the top two biggest streaming weeks ever, with 745.92 million and 743.67 million for Scorpion and Certified Lover Boy, respectively.
Her Loss is 21’s third No. 1, while this is the 12th album from Drake to claim the top spot, putting him ahead of Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand and Taylor Swift, with only The Beatles (19) and Jay-Z (14) standing in his way for more number ones.
The chart success of Her Loss comes on the heels of an unusual album rollout in which the two engineered a fake press tour with appearances on NPR Tiny Desk, Vogue, and The Howard Stern Show. While Stern praised the stunt, Condé Nast, which owns Vogue, filed a $4 million lawsuit against Drake and 21 Savage for photoshopping their faces on the October issue of the magazine and passing out copies to people in the streets.
A judge ordered the duo to stop using the fake Vogue cover last week.
Since its release, Drake has also made waves for allegedly dissing Megan Thee Stallion, Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian, among others. 21 made it clear that he supports the Toronto native’s unfiltered approach on their album. “I’m behind him. Whatever he standing on, I’m standing on it too,” he said.
