National Geographic's One Strange Rock documentary series has some serious talent behind it, especially with Will Smith hosting the series. With two episodes of the impressive nature series already aired, the Darren Aronofsky-produced show has also inspired some equally as grandiose music. Zedd, who's fresh off a Grammy nomination for his huge collaboration with Alessia Cara, has composed an original song inspired by the sights and sounds on display in One Strange Rock.

National Geographic previously teased his music for the series with a series of short films, with Love Letter to Earth revealing it for the first time. The second in the series saw Zedd speaking with former astronaut Leland Melvin, sparking further inspiration for his original composition. Finally, we got a chance to see Zedd in the studio recording the track, showcasing everything that went into the final version. With the gorgeous video, he's shared the song in full.

"I think every little detail you add into a song is part of the reason why you like it so much," he explains in the behind the scenes videos. He explains that he's always been a huge fan of Mother! and Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, and that this was the perfect time for him to indulge his scoring ambitions.

Check out the inspiration behind the composition above, and see what went into making it below. One Strange Rock airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. PT on National Geographic.
