On Friday, the day his album Blank Face was released, ScHoolboy Q sat down with Letty Martinez of L.A. radio station Real 92.3 for a raw, emotional, and frequently painfully honest interview.

The TDE artist begins by alluding to some recent difficulties in his personal life. "It's kind of hard for me to enjoy this moment," he tells Martinez, saying that this is "one of the worst days of my life."

Q also talks about a span starting around December of last year when he quit making music, and considered himself effectively retired. Building a home studio, he says, helped reinvigorate him.

He also discusses the recent Black Hippy remix of "THat Part," and how difficult it is to get all four group members together due to lifestyles and work habits.

Q spends a long time talking about the controversy developed after the New York City listening party for Blank Face. During the party, he reportedly said that "the label made me" include the Miguel collaboration "Overtime." The comment was picked up instantly by the media, which led to a few complications.

"Before I even got in the car after the album release, it was everywhere. That made Miguel feel a certain way, to the point where I had to holler at him. I should have worded it way better, instead of saying it like I said it."

The whole incident made him wary of the media. "These websites that's supposed to represent hip-hop are turning into TMZ," he explains.
