Los Angeles' J.R. Cruise is definitely on the come up and his newest track is evidence why you should be paying attention. "Ball All Summer" rides on a kick-back beat courtesy of LeKen Taylor, popping off every few seconds with a yo-yo like sound that completely pulls us in. Then the hook comes on and sinks us in deeper thanks to JR's quick wit and progressively intense bars. It's definitely easy to imagine chilling courtside bumping this on the asphalt this summer.

It turns out that easy-going feeling of a California day is exactly the vibe JR was hoping to set. "There's nothing like a Los Angeles summer," J.R. told Complex over email. "Every summer my life has changed in a good way or a bad way. This record basically describes my goal for every summer." The west coast has been lacking some feel-good music like this and we're happy to see J.R. is ready to fill that void.

"Ball All Summer" is just the tipping point for the rapper on the come up as he is currently hard at work in the studio on his debut project. With a hot track straight out of the gate, we have a feeling this summer is going to be good to JR. Listen to the premiere of "Ball All Summer" below and definitely keep a look out for his debut project.
