Wale stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning to chop it up with Charlamagne the God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy about the state of his career, his new single "My P.Y.T.," his relationship with Meek Mill, and what to expect from his new album.

Wale has long expressed frustration about the not being more popular, despite having several gold albums and platinum singles to his name. In this interview, however, he sounded a bit more confident, predicting a good response to his upcoming album SHINE. "I'm a professional musician, so I wanna make sure people are like 'I love his music' every time I drop music. And so that's why I do get offended. Like yo, I ain't making this for me. The Album About Nothing was for me. SHINE is for the world. 'My P.Y.T.' is for the world." This didn't stop the Breakfast Club crew from kicking around some ideas about why exactly he's under appreciated in hip-hop. "People don't see you as a lyricist," said DJ Envy, who compared him to Fabolous because his "chick songs" are his most popular records.

Despite the sometimes pubic feuds between himself and label mate Meek Mill, Wale insists that the crew is as solid as ever. "At the end of the day, that's my nigga," he said about Meek. He even expressed excitement that Meek's Dreams Worth More Than Money had beaten out the likes of Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar for Best Rap Album at the Billboard Music Awards, saying it was due to Meek's hard work.
