ZAYN's highly-anticipated debut album, Mind of Mine, is here. The former One Direction member's solo career has quickly been picking up speed in 2016 with the release of his first single "Pillowtalk" and accompanying video starring model girlfriend Gigi Hadid that debuted No. 1 on the Hot 100. The video was followed by the release of "It's You," the club-ready "Like I Would," and "Befour." Speaking to COMPLEX for his April/May cover, ZAYN told us the success of "Pillowtalk" didn't mean he was ready to start coasting. "Obviously, there’s still a lot of pressure. I don’t want to be a one-hit wonder, so I’ve got a lot of work to do."
ZAYN's album arrives on year to the day of him publicly leaving the biggest boy band in the world. ZAYN revealed to us it was the lack of authenticity he felt singing One Direction's music that became the main factor in him leaving. "It was about denying the authenticity of who I was, and what I enjoyed about music, and why I got into it. That was always there. It was one of the things that wasn’t going to go away, so I had to go away," he explained. "With the music that I’m doing now, I get to express myself, and that creative tension is gone." Last week, ZAYN actually previewed clips of several of his album's songs including "She Don't Love Me," "Drunk," and his Kehlani collaboration, "Wrong."
