Rumors are beginning to circulate that Madonnaand Sean Penn are back together after they attended the annual benefit for Penn's Haitian relief organization J/P HRO hand in hand over the weekend. The famous exes posed for pictures on the red carpet together with Madonna's children Mercy and David. Madonna later took the stage to perform “La Vie en Rose” after delivering a short speech to her ex-husband. “I want to say, Sean, that I love you from the moment that I laid eyes on you, and I still love you just the same. I just wish you would stop smoking so many cigarettes.”

Just last month, Madonna defended Penn in his defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels. At the time, Empire co-creator Daniels stated that Terrence Howard “ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of the sudden he’s some f—in’ demon.” In direct response, Madonna countered the reference to Penn being abusive in an official court document. “While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean has never struck me, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me, and any report to the contrary is completely outrageous, malicious, reckless and false,” she wrote, according to Variety.
