Indie rock's favorite Heartbreaker, Ryan Adams, is taking on pop's favorite love song queen, Taylor Swift. Late last night, Adams announced via Instagram and Twitter that he is currently recording a full cover album of Swift's 1989, to which Swift replied, at 4:49 a.m. EST, that she would "pass out"—we're guessing from excitement, and not because she's tired from being up so late.

@hasief @TheRyanAdams is this true??????? I WILL PASS OUT.

Ryan confirmed that he is indeed not flubbing. Taylor Swift, as you can see, is beyond stoked about this news and promises to celebrate August 6 as a holiday every year:

@TheRyanAdams Cool I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again and I'm going to celebrate today every year as a holiday. I'M CALM

He also posted a preview clip of his "Welcome to New York" cover and it sounds actually kind of awesome (not sure why he's wearing a helmet but whatever works for his creative process I guess). Listen below, and check out some of his other Taylor Swift studio sesh pics.
