Today Richmond, Virginia singer and producer Scholar unleashes his visual accompaniment for "Abstract." As the first track from his forthcoming debut EP Directors Cut, Scholar explained that "Abstract" captures the beauty in our differences. "Abstract is a celebration... it's an ode to being unique," he told Complex over email.
Taking cue from the song for the video, Scholar induces the video with a series of conceptual cuts spliced together that serves as the singer's background before a spotlight and a horn section turn the whole thing on its head. When asked about the upcoming EP, he added "Director’s Cut serves as my voice—visually and musically. Two of my passions and talents merged into one.
