Storied Brick Squad history aside, Waka Flocka Flame's relationship with the word 'squad' is one of impassioned dedication:

In fact, Waka Flocka himself would go so far as to say your greatest dreams and aspirations — your 'squad goals,' if you will — might never have gained traction without his cultural impact. Speaking passionately to 1.4 million fellow squad members via Twitter on Sunday, Waka Flocka claimed ownership of the word and concept itself — squad — with a simple trio of proclamations, one of which brilliantly employs theoretical crickets:

2.

I started the word #SQUAD

3.

Who was saying Squad b4 I started rapping…… I hear crickets

— Waka Flocka (WakaFlocka.eth) (@WakaFlocka) June 14, 2015

4.

Must I remind y’all who the fuck I am please don’t make me jump in the time machine 😂 naw fr fr #Edmgotyallfuckedup

— Waka Flocka (WakaFlocka.eth) (@WakaFlocka) June 14, 2015

Apparently feeling the need for further clarification, the self-proclaimed Turn Up God then delved into the history of the term a bit deeper:

5.

Squad up and SquaDD not the same thing #WFF

— Waka Flocka (WakaFlocka.eth) (@WakaFlocka) June 14, 2015

Thus, the question stands — did temporary presidential candidate Waka Flocka Flame truly invent the concept of 'squad' as we know it in 2015? Also, why must we always burden Twitter with life's big questions? Regardless, that picture of Waka Flocka Flame on a horse (see above) is clearly just a few potential members short of being fully indicative of the standard set by #squadgoals.
