Listen To Halsey's "Hold Me Down" Off Forthcoming Debut Album 'Badlands'

Rising artist Halsey strikes an addicting dark pop chord in "Hold Me Down" off forthcoming debut album 'Badlands.'

Born Ashley Frangipane, 20 year-old songstress Halsey has been making a name for herself across the musical stratosphere. It wasn't long after the release of her debut single "Ghost" in 2014 that she had garnered label interest with the ink of her contract at Capitol's Astralwerks (home to other acts like The Kooks and Empire Of The Sun) dry by August. The release of her debut Room 93 EP unraveled like a lethal shot of goth pop as she headed on the nationally sold out AMERICAN YOU(TH) tour with Young Rising Sons and Olivver The Kid before playing Last Call with Carson Daly and SXSW where she emerged ahead of Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson as the most mentioned artist on Twitter

Yesterday, Halsey announced the pre-order for her debut album Badlands coming later this summer. The latest taste of the album arrives with "Hold Me Down" as another devastatingly addictive shot of pop with a bittersweet aftertaste. A sparse bassline provides the backdrop as Halsey's sandusted vocals chime in, slow-burning to the song's battle-cry chorus that breathlessly wages a war against the soul-sucking force holding her down.

Listen to "Hold Me Down" below and look for the song on Halsey's debut album Badlands out August 28 on Astralwerks (pre-order here and get "Hold Me Down" immediately along with new songs as they become available).
