Mick Jenkins is quickly turning into one of hip-hop's better lyricists amongst rappers who assign a special craft to lyricism (meaning they actually try). His rhymes develop with coded, often melodic tones—when it comes to using flow and voice to add texture to raps, Jenkins nails it on "Rain." Kaytranada produces a jazzy, chilled out beat that could easily be a part of the Ocarina of Time soundtrack.
It's impressive to see Jenkins make subtle strides from his confident sophomore album The Water[s], which was released last month. Hopefully we'll see Jenkins continue to crank out excellent music at a digestible rate. Stream the track below.
