Medium, the tech startup led by Twitter co-founder Evan Williams, will officially be launching a digital music magazine. The publication, which is set to launch next month, will be edited by Jonathan Shecter, who is best known as the co-founder of The Source Magazine. The primary concept of Medium is to allow anyone to publish work on the site, but they will also have designated writers to add content to the site, such as reviews. The site isn't necessarily focused on racking up page views, but rather engagement and total reading time.

Before teaming up with Williams and Medium, Shecter had been working in Las Vegas as the director of programming for the Wynn casino, which is where he first met Williams to talk about the position. Earlier this year, Williams raised $25 million in funding for the startup, and now it appears he is putting that money to good use.
