Jay Z and his longtime business partner John Meneilly have reportedly split. According New York Daily News, the split between the two is being reported as 'amicable' yet an insider says otherwise. The unnamed insider reports that John didn't want the split, saying that "it wasn't his choice."
Meneilly is largely credited as being one of the few people within Jay's circle, and helped build the Rocawear clothing line. He was also instrumental in the deal with Samsung that coincided with the release of Jay Z's last album Magna Carta Holy Grail.
A former Provident Financial executive, Meneilly has also been a driving force at Roc Nation, which has recently expanded from the music industry into the world of sports.
