Our rock-solid belief in everything we ever read anywhere on the Internet was shaken when a gossip blog reported that Miley Cyrus had shaded Beyoncé when she hadn't. (Can anyone ever trust the Internet again? No.)

Date: January 2

"In an upcoming issue of British publication Love Magazine, cover girl Miley Cyrus declares herself the next in line for Beyoncé's throne. While the story is not online yet, gossip blog Perez Hilton has collected some choice quotes from the story.

“Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood. I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best.”
“As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know? I’m just the total package, you know? All things must start and end and I hope to have the same success as other icons in the game when my run is over. But for now, my run is just starting.”

According to Miley (via Twitter), these quotes have been fabricated. Complex [...]reached out to Love Magazine's Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand's publicist for comment... [She] has told Complex that the original source of the story was the Hollywood Life blog, who have since deleted their story 'in light of the fact it does not relate to the upcoming issue of Love.' They have replaced it with one about Miley's follow-up tweets denying the quotes."—Claire Lobenfeld
