Mike WiLL Made It seemed to be everywhere in 2013, and his production credits say as much. The 24-year-old producer from Atlanta scored hits for Miley Cyrus, Future, Lil Wayne, and Rihanna, as well as released his own mixtape, #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL. Clearly he has no signs of slowing down in the new year, as Mike WiLL recently spoke with Rolling Stone regarding the work he has lined up with Future and Diddy, not to mention his own debut album.
As the executive producer behind Future's upcoming album Honest, Mike WiLL shared some of the notable figures that will be present. "We have some good collaborations on there like Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kanye West, Pharrell, Pusha T," he says. "It’s a real dope album and it should be eventful when it comes out." Future recently announced on Twitter that he'll have a firm release date for Honest by next week.
Mike WiLL has also been at work on his debut album, Est. in 1989 Pt. 3. Similar to his latest mixtape, expect to see a lot of big names when the project drops. “I feel like my album has to be so eventful. It has to have classic collaborations," he says. "I’ve been working with Kendrick [Lamar], Nicki, Future, Rick Ross, Drake, everybody. I’m trying to figure out what songs make the cut. My album has to be the 10 hottest songs. It has to be like the Now CD." Thus far he's released one record from the project, "23," which includes Miley Cyrus, Juicy J, and Wiz Khalifa. "23" peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
While he didn't reveal too much information, Mike WiLL Made It also says he's been working on Diddy's new album. The two recently connected on the remix of Future's "Shit" for Mike WiLL's mixtape, which also included a verse from ScHoolboy Q.
