Nobody does real talk like Reggie Ossé a.k.a. Combat Jack. The former rap industry attorney, media executive, author, and Internet radio talk-show personality now hosts The Combat Jack Show, where hip-hop's biggest names are put on the front line. The questions will be tough—and shots will be fired. Co-hosted by Dallas Penn, Premium Pete, and Just Blaze, The Combat Jack Show appears every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday on Complex TV.
In this episode of The Combat Jack Show, the whole gang is present to discuss the first season of their highly-successful show with Complex TV. The season included 17 guests who revealed some amazing stories from their careers, which is something co-host Dallas Penn says he was proud of. "We almost found a place for artists to talk really about their career, about their life and about their motivations," Penn says. "This is stuff that I've never heard before on radio, I've never heard before through BET or other television vehicles."
Co-host Just Blaze was equally impressed, explaining that The Combat Jack Show's format allows artists to truly connect with their fans. "With the way the industry is today, people have to want to buy into you as a person to buy your product," he states. "When they say, 'Yo, I relate to that dude' or 'I like that dude. I understand that record, I understand that verse,' they're more apt to go and support your project."
The crew highlight some of their favorite moments from season one, including appearances from Scarface, Prodigy and Gunplay. However, Combat Jack confesses his favorite moments are still on the horizon. "I'm gigging off the fact that I still don't know the impact of what this show will have down the line for each and every one of us," Combat declares. "My favorite moment is the possibilities of what we've created throughout this season."
